MATARIKI ART (Term 2)

To celebrate Matariki our class embraced a Maori skill which was used alot for mats, baskets for food, hats and other amazing useful things. Harakeke (flax) was an amazing natural resource which was used back in the days and is still being used today to make many cultural items.
We used skewers to weave an art piece that we coloured using pastels.
Come See them in class :)

Fia Fia Night Term 2

Room 17 girls & Room 16 girls learnt 3 quick Cook Island dances. They practiced every lunch time and some of them practiced at home just to perfect their actions in preparation for the big night.
The Y8's hosted a Fiafia Night as a Fund Raiser for their trip to Rotorua and we volunteered to showcase an item.

After all the lunch time and home practices we did amazing and we looked amazing as well.
Thank you to our parents for their contribution in making this night special for the kids.
